Shaker Song:
Wind Song:
Sing the following song to the tune of “London Bridge is Falling Down.” While singing gently sway the shaker from side to side.
Wind can be a gentle breeze,
Gentle breeze, gentle breeze.
Wind can be a gentle breeze,
In the summer.
Additional Verses:
Making a falling motion with the shaker:
Wind can make the leaves fall down,
Leaves fall down, leaves fall down.
In the fall.
Holding the shaker tightly and shivering:
Wind can be an icy blast,
Icy blast, icy blast.
Wing can be an icy blast,
In the winter.
Swaying shaker high above head like a kite:
Wind can help you fly a kite,
Fly a kite, fly a kite.
Wind can help you fly a kite
In the spingtime.
Shakers Count to Ten
This is a chant, similar to “One, Two, Buckle My Shoe.”
One, two shake it on your shoe (roll shaker gently on your shoe)
Three, four, shake it on the floor. (roll shaker gently on the floor)
Five, six, stir and mix, (holding shaker upside down like a spoon, pretend to stir)
Seven, eight, stand up straight (hold shaker in “standing” position on the floor)
Nine, ten, wave to all your friends! (wave shaker in the air)
For extra fun, when all the children know this rhyme well, you can try preforming it slow, at regular speed, fast and then very fast!

I’m a Nut
(tune: I’m a Little Piece of Tin)
I’m a little acorn brown
Lying on the cold, cold, ground.
Everybody steps on me,
That is why I’m cracked you see.
Chorus:
I’m a nut. Click! Click! (click tongue)
I’m a nut. Click! Click! (move head from side to side as you make a clicking noise)
I’m a nut. I’m a nut.
I’m a nut. Click! Click!
Called myself up on the phone (pretend to hold phone)
Just to see if I was home.
Asked myself out on a date.
Said to be ready about half past eight.
Repeat Chorus
