Books:
The 12 Days of Christmas by Rachel Isadora
10 Trim-the-Tree’ers by Janet Schulman
Don’t Push the Button: A Christmas Adventure by Bill Cotter
What Could be Keeping Santa by Marilyn Janovitz
Inclusion:
The 12 Days of Christmas by Rachel Isadora has beautiful illustrations setting the traditional story in Africa. The collage art combines kente clothe and paper to represent traditional clothing and native animals.
10 Trim-the-Tree’ers by Janet Schulman is a Christmas counting book with multi-ethnic characters. It is simple enough that I would recommend it for sensory or toddler story times. The cute pictures are bright and colorful and the children’s faces expressive.

Flannel Rhyme:
Tune: Mary Wore a Red Dress
Santa wore a green suit, green suit, green suit, Santa wore a green suit all day long.
…Oh no Santa that’s not right.
Santa wore a red suit, red suit, red suit.
Santa wore a red suit all night long.

Song:
Jingle Bells
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh
In a one-horse open sleigh
Over the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bob-tail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight
Jingle all the way!
O’ what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh
Jingle all the way!
O’ what a lot fun, what a lot fun to ride and sing in a one-horse open sleigh
